This year we sold our old home and bought our ‘Pinterest’ house. I’ve loved every moment of making it ours. Just one month later I took a hard decision and underwent a bi-lateral (double) mastectomy with reconstruction. This was a tough challenge but one that has made me focus on hopes and dreams and not putting things off.
I had my surgery as I’m BRCA2 positive (BR Breast CA Cancer) giving me an 80% lifetime risk of the disease, with all a long family history of breast cancer including my mum, who battled and survived it twice, it was time to change the course of history.
Aside from my new foobs (Fake Boobs) what has bloomed from my recovery is Woodham Blooms. We specifically picked to work with faux flowers in homage to my faux boobs. Sometimes faux can help you bloom when you most need it.
We plan on always having a Faux arrangement that has a donation to Cancer Research UK, without this vital research I would never have had the BRCA test allowing me to have this crystal ball of information and make choices.
Thank you to you all and here’s to 2018 being a blooming fabulous year for us all.
